Shopper bags in the making

Hi!

Hope you’re having a wonderful Christmas celebration with friends and family. After 2 hectic months in Zambia, it feels good to be home with my family. Time to reload for 2014, and I believe it will be a very exciting year for WayaWaya. Can’t wait to get started!

When I travelled home, I brought almost all of the bags with me, many of them Christmas gifts. We hope there are many happy faces around the country after getting their WayaWaya shopper bag for Christmas. I’ll show you some pictures from the production under.

Enjoy! 🙂

Susan and Sandra are finally seeing some progress! Lining ready to be stitched together.

Now, how did we do this again?

Accuracy is a must!

Finding the correct size for the rivets!

Be aware, these women can hammer! 😉

Gluing, gluing, gluing! Wonder how much glue we have used….

Final exam….cutting leather! Some nervous ladies, including Iris and me!

OH NO! Big problem! The walking foot got too sharp teeth, it’s making marks on the leather. This got consequences for the progress with the computer sleeves. We had to order a new walking foot, which took longer time than expected. For the labels on the shopper bags, we had to stitch them manually.

Bags ready!! Very happy!

Estelle from Germany bought our first bag, a damaged prototype! Either way, she wanted one. We are flattered and very thankful! Maybe she will bring a long more German customers? Thank you, Estelle! 🙂

Iris is showing alternatively ways of using the shopper. She is such a trend setter! 🙂

Next challenge, making the computer sleeves! We’ve started making some samples and though we’ve had problems with the machine, we are 100 % sure the sleeves will look stunning! The wait will be worth it.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday! 🙂
